HUghes Socol Piers Resnick Dym LTD issued the following announcement on June 20.

For the past ten years, HSPRD has represented the trustee in the Emerald Casino bankruptcy case. In 2014, following a lengthy trial, U.S. District Court Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer entered judgment in favor of the trustee and against the former directors and officers of the casino in the amount of $272 million, and in 2017, the Seventh Circuit confirmed the judgment on appeal.

$45 million of the judgment has been collected. Since that time, HSPRD, along with attorneys at Jenner & Block, have engaged in efforts to collect remaining money judgment.

On Wednesday, Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer entered an important order granting HSPRD’s client’s motion to compel the turnover of approximately $1.6 million in assets due to a fraudulent transfer from Defendant Kevin Flynn to his wife Susan Flynn. The trustee is represented by Robert L. Graham, Catherine L. Steege and Keri L. Holleb Hotaling of Jenner & Block LLP, and Matthew J. Piers, Joshua Karsh and Chirag Badlani of Hughes Socol Piers Resnick & Dym Ltd.
