Estate administrator blames Bridgeway Senior Living, nurses for patient death

Medical malpractice 04

CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing Bridgeway Senior Living LLC, Bensenville CCRC Holdings LLC and three nurses, alleging the defendants failed to properly care for the late Patricia Young.

Julie Wolski filed a complaint June 18 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendants failed to notify a resident physician of changes in Young's condition, failed to monitor and accurately document her condition and failed to transfer her to an acute care facility on time.

According to the complaint, beginning on Oct. 4, 2014, Young was a resident at the defendants' facilities. Wolski claims Young received substandard care and treatment for a prolonged period of time, suffered a stage-four pressure wound and sustained serious injuries and severe pain prior to her death at a hospice facility on June 19, 2016.

The plaintiff seeks a judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of the court's jurisdictional requirement for adequately compensating the plaintiff's losses and damages. She is represented by Paul Ritcher and Caitlin Finnegan of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
