Estate administrator blames Concord Nursing for patient's death

Medical malpractice 04

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Concord Nursing and Rehabilitation Center LLC, International Nursing & Rehab Center LLC and Aperion Care International, citing alleged negligence.

Lucille Fox filed a complaint June 27 in Cook County Circuit Court on behalf of the estate of Michael Fox, alleging Fox was malnourished, dehydrated and in pain before he died on May 4, 2014, allegedly as a result of the negligence of the defendants in providing adequate care and treatment and monitoring his worsening condition.

Lucille Fox said the defendants allegedly failed to properly assess Fox and provide proper measures to prevent his worsening condition, failed to properly supervise and monitor his nutrition and failed to provide prompt medical attention.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Christopher Cromydas of Hurley McKenna & Mertz PC in Chicago.
