CHICAGO — An insurance company is suing McNabola Law Group PC, Mark McNabola, Scot Vandenberg and Patricia Vandenberg, asking the court to declare the insurer has no obligation to cover the defendants for a legal action.
Illinois State Bar Association Mutual Insurance Co. filed a complaint June 11 in Cook County Circuit Court.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges it is not obligated under an insurance policy to defend the law firm and McNabola in connection with a motion filed by the Vandenbergs in a case against Brunswick Corp. because its duty to defend extends only to a lawsuit or arbitration proceeding.
The plaintiff is looking to recover the costs of its lawsuit and other relief the court deems reasonable and proper. It is represented by Robert Marc Chemers of Pretzel & Stouffer Chartered in Chicago.
