Law money 13

CHICAGO — A group of investors is suing Alvin Guy Wilkinson, Wilkinson Financial Opportunity LP and Chicago Index Partners LP, citing alleged fraud, negligence, and negligent misrepresentation.

Robert Sturges, Carley Sturges and several other plaintiffs filed a complaint June 28 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants obtained profit through unfair or deceptive business practices.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs have lost their net investments, interest and profits and incurred expenses as a result of the defendants' alleged negligence in handling of the plaintiffs' funds and operation of an alleged Ponzi scheme.

The plaintiffs claim the defendants overstated their financial condition and disclosed false information about their financial data.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek a judgment for damages, costs, interest, expenses and other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Todd Smith and Brian LaCien of Power Rogers & Smith LLP in Chicago.
