CHICAGO — A law firm is suing Adtalem Global Education Inc., formerly DeVry Education Group, citing alleged breach of contract.

Stoltmann Law Offices PC filed a complaint June 21 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that Adtalem Global violated its contract with the law firm refusing to pay filing fees to Judicial Arbitration and Mediation (JAMS) instead of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and stating that it would not pay future filing fees for claims filed by the plaintiff.

The firm claims it agreed to file claims with JAMS instead of AAA with the understanding that Adtalem would pay filing fees, but the defendant has allegedly refused to pay $112,500 in required filing fees for individual claimants with JAMS, bringing the proceedings essentially to a standstill.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment against the defendant and all other relief that the court deems appropriate. It is represented by Alexander Loftus, Joseph Wojciechowski and Jeffrey Donnan of Stoltmann Law Offices in Chicago.
