Man's guardian accuses Help At Home of negligence

Medical malpractice 02

CHICAGO — An incapacitated man's guardian is suing Help At Home LLC, citing alleged negligence.

Loretta Davies filed a complaint July 2 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Davies' ward, Gary Taylor, needed emergency surgery to prevent the spread of infection and suffered sepsis and renal failure, deterioration of his physical and mental condition and loss of dignity, allegedly as a result of the negligence of the defendant in Taylor's care.

Davies said the defendant allegedly failed to provide the necessary treatment and services to maintain the patient's well-being, failed to properly develop, implement and revise a care plan and failed to inform Taylor's doctor of changes in his condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment gerater than $50,000. It is represented by Brad Pollock, James Lynch and Katherine Moorhouse of Taxman, Pollock, Murray & Bekkerman in Chicago.
