Estate administrator blames Arden Courts for patient's falls, death

Medical malpractice 04

CHICAGO — An estate executor is suing Arden Courts of Elk Grove, making claims of negligence and wrongful death.

Michael Iatomasi, filed a complaint July 2 in Cook County Circuit Court on behalf of the estate of Anna Iatomasi, for an alleged violation of the Nursing Home Care Act.

According to the complaint, Anna Iatomasi was admitted to the defendant's nursing care facility on June 19, 2013, because she needed supervision and assistance with daily activities.

However, despite knowing of Iatomasi's condition, Michael Iatomasi claims the defendant's staff did not provide the level of assistance she needed. As a result, the plaintiff alleges Anna Iatomasi suffered numerous falls, causing lacerations on her face and a fractured vertebrae with deep vein thrombosis. She died in December 2017.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment in an amount greater than $50,000, plus attorney fees, costs and all other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by James Ferrell of James C. Ferrell PC in Houston.
