Patient accuses Advocate Christ Medical Center, doctor of negligence

Medical malpractice 06

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Advocate Christ Medical Center, Dr. Nancy Church and Nancy R.G. Church M.D. LLC, also known as Wellness Connections LLC, citing alleged negligence.

Kerry Sloyan filed a complaint July 12 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to provide appropriate pre-operative and post-operative care and failed to prevent an infection and promptly diagnose and treat it.

According to the complaint, Church performed a robotic-assisted total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy on Sloyan on July 13, 2016. The plaintiff claims she suffered vertigo, decreased eyesight, fatigue, fever and a possible pelvic wound infection following the operation.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment in an amount in excess of the court's jurisdictional requisite that will fairly and adequately compensate her for her injuries, losses and damages. She is represented by Meghan Suffield of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
