Son blames Loyola University Medical Center for mother's death

Medical malpractice 01

CHICAGO — A special estate administrator is suing Loyola University Medical Center for wrongful death.

Joseph Napoletano filed a complaint July 9 in Cook County Circuit Court on behalf of the estate of Philomena Napoletano, alleging Napoletano developed decubitus ulcers, which allegedly contributed to her death, as a result of the negligence of the defendant in the care, treatment and supervision of the deceased. Additionally, as her son, the plaintiff said he has suffered the loss of Napoletano's companionship and was subjected to considerable grief and sorrow.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment in an amount that will fully compensate Napoletano's next of kin for their losses, plus costs of the lawsuit. He is represented by Corey Meyer of the Law Offices of Corey E. Meyer Ltd. in Chicago.
