Patient claims Wellness Connections missed ureter injury

Medical malpractice 04

CHICAGO — A patient is suing a doctor and a medical facility that does business as Wellness Connections LLC, citing alleged medical negligence.

Tongala Kimble filed a complaint July 9 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Nancy Church and Nancy R.G. Church M.D. LLC, doing business as Wellness Connections, alleging the defendants violated the standard of care in treatment and follow-up care, causing injuries.

According to the complaint, Kimble went to the defendants' facility on July 13, 2016 for treatment of a medical condition.

However, Kimble claims her ureter injury failed to be detected, resulting in an abscess and infection.

In addition, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants failed to timely diagnose her injury and improperly delayed treatment and/or corrective surgery when she had called multiple times with serious complaints.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment in an amount that will satisfy the jurisdictional limitation of the court and additional amounts as the jury and the court deem proper, as well as costs of the lawsuit. She is represented by Marc Taxman of Taxman, Pollock, Murray & Bekkerman LLC in Chicago.
