CHICAGO — A resident is suing Senior Suites Chicago Corp., Senior Suites Chicago Bridgeport LLC, Suburban Elevator Co. and Suburban Elevator Services LLC, citing alleged negligence.

Barbara Krummick filed a complaint July 17 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging, as she was entering an elevator at the defendants' senior living facility on Oct. 10, 2016, she was allegedly hit by the elevator door and knocked to the ground, causing permanent injuries, disability, pain and mental anguish and resulting in substantial medical expenses.

Krummick claims the defendant failed to provide a safe elevator service, failed to warn residents of the dangerous condition of the elevators and failed to properly inspect and monitor the elevators.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs of the lawsuit. She is represented by Gary Stone of Karchmar & Stone in Chicago.
