CHICAGO — A limousine driver is suing James Stone and East Bank Storage on 35th Street Inc., which does business as Bridgeport Art Center, citing alleged assault, failure to protect and negligence.
Bryon Hidalgo filed a complaint July 16 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Bridgeport Art Center sold liquor to Stone, leaving him intoxicated and causing him to assault another guest.
According to the complaint, Hidalgo arrived at the art center on July 23, 2017, to pick up a customer from a wedding when he claims he was tackled and punched in the head by Stone after Hidalgo said he could not drive him home.
As a result of the alleged attack, Hidalgo said he sustained physical injuries and lost personal property.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment in an amount to be proven at trial, plus costs, expenses and other relief the court deems appropriate. He is represented by John Galarnyk and Andrew Cunniff of Galarnyk & Associates, Ltd. in Chicago.
