Estate administrator blames Palos Community Hospital for patient's death

Medical malpractice 04

CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing Palos Community Hospital and Dr. Daniel Pacella, claiming negligence and wrongful death.

Khalid Salah filed a complaint July 16 in Cook County Circuit Court on behalf of the estate of Yousef Salah, alleging Yousef Salah suffered a bowel obstruction and multiple organ failure on July 28, 2016, which ultimately caused his death, as a result of the alleged negligence of the defendant in his treatment and care during his hospital stay. Additionally, the lawsuit said Yousef Salah's next of kin have suffered grief, sorrow and loss of his society.

The plaintiff said the defendants should be held responsible because they allegedly opted against surgical intervention that could have saved Salah's life and failed to recognize the urgency and severity of his condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs of the action. He is represented by Ashley Murray of O'Connor Law Firm Ltd. in Chicago.
