CHICAGO — Two sales representatives are suing Consumer Digest Communications LLC and Randy Weber, citing alleged breach of contract.
Lisa Heim and Alec Lilburn filed a complaint July 19 in Cook County Circuit Court, claiming the defendants defaulted on payment due under an amended contract.
According to the complaint, on April 30, 2017, Heim and Lilburn engaged in extensive settlement negotiations with the defendants, who agreed to pay $180,000 for the work performed by the plaintiffs as sales representatives.
On June 22, the parties agreed to an amended payment schedule under which the defendants are required to pay the plaintiffs $20,000. The plaintiffs claim they did not receive payment of this settlement amount.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek a judgment greater than $50,000, which includes agreed upon interest at a rate of 10 percent, plus costs. They are represented by Peter Skiko, Charles Stahl Jr. and Kristine Reveille of Swanson, Martin & Bell LLP in Chicago.
