CHICAGO — A Chicago resident is suing a towing company, citing alleged negligence and failure to warn of dangers on a flat bed truck.
Michael James filed a complaint July 24 in the Cook County Circuit Court against North La Salle Service, Inc., which does business as Wells LD, Wells Auto Services, Wells Automotive Services and Wells Towing, alleging the defendants allowed James to use the flat bed of the tow truck, although it was unsafe for any untrained person.
According to the complaint, James contacted the defendants on July 26, 2016, to get road side assistance because his vehicle would not start.
James claims that while his car was being pulled up, he was instructed to be on the flat bed. He allegedly fell off the flat bed from an allegedly dangerous height directly to the ground, fracturing his left ankle and tearing his quad tendon above his left knee.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional requirements of the court, as well as any other relief the court deems appropriate. He is represented by attorney Steven Saltzman in Chicago.
