CHICAGO — A couple is suing Dr. Mohammed Asgar and Metro Primary Care Associates LLC, doing business as Metro South Memorial Hospital, citing alleged negligent failure to diagnose, vicarious liability and loss of consortium.
Derrick and Sharon Bolden filed a complaint July 20 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to diagnose and treat the early signs of Derrick Bolden's heart disease.
According to the complaint, between 2005 and September 2016, Derrick Bolden complained of chest pain and was under the care of Asgar for care and treatment. Over the years, Bolden allegedly also complained of nausea, sweating, heart palpitations, increasing fatigue and shortness of breath and suffered permanent and irreversible heart damage.
The lawsuit said Derrick Bolden underwent emergency surgeries in July 2015 and September 2016.
The plaintiffs seek more than $500,000 and costs of the lawsuit. They are represented by Rodrick Wimberly of The Lakeshore East Law Group in Chicago.
