Mayer Brown announced that Litigation & Dispute Resolution partner Lucia Nale and Government Relations & Public Law partner Joanna Horsnail were recognized by Crain’s Chicago Business among its 2018 “Notable Women Lawyers in Chicago.” The list honored women lawyers with impressive career achievements who have shown the ability to effect change in their role and/or area of practice at their firm.
Crain’s selected Ms. Nale as a “Notable Woman Lawyer in Chicago” for her prowess in banking and financial services class action defense and related regulatory compliance space. The publication noted her “precedent-setting results fending off class actions and advancing case law to prevent frivolous class actions.” In addition to Ms. Nale’s robust practice, Crain’s also highlighted her extensive involvement with the firm’s leadership, diversity and professional advancement initiatives.
Ms. Horsnail was selected by Crain’s for her impressive work counseling clients on more than $1 billion in infrastructure and energy construction projects throughout North and South America. The publication also highlighted her unique background, including becoming partner while on maternity leave and working an alternative schedule for 10 years. Ms. Horsnail shares her inspirational story to help make young lawyers more comfortable with alternative career paths, according to Crain’s.
