Man claims Dr. Karthik Sampath, Tina Skaria have not repaid $400,000 loan

Late 02

CHICAGO — An Illinois resident is suing Dr. Karthik Sampath and Tina Skaria, citing alleged breach of contract, fraud and unjust enrichment.

Darrin Edgecombe filed a complaint Aug. 9 in Cook County Circuit Court, claiming the defendants breached their duty of good faith and fair dealings.

According to the complaint, Edgecombe allegedly lent $400,000 to the defendants on Aug. 16, 2014, relying on their agreement to pay back the money within six months.

Edgecombe said the money has not been fully repaid and was allegedly gambled away by the defendants in a trip to Las Vegas with the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment in the amount of $400,000, plus interest, costs, expenses and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by Thomas Patterson and Anthony Eben of Patterson Law Firm LLC in Chicago and Philip Berenz of Berenz Law Network in Chicago.
