Truck drivers claim Timeline Transportation doctored log books

Law money 06

CHICAGO — A truck driver has filed a class action lawsuit against Timeline Transportation Inc., Uliana Lomei and Viktor Demyaniv, citing alleged civil conspiracy and unjust enrichment.

Lead plaintiff Ihor Stasiuk filed a complaint Aug. 3 in Cook County Circuit Court, claiming he and other truck drivers lost wages and suffered damages in working for the defendants as non-exempt drivers because the defendants allegedly altered their log books to deduct from actual miles driven and worked in an effort to gain more profit.

In addition, Stasiuk said the defendants allegedly refused to pay him for work performed because of the deductions and refused to address any grievances by truck drivers and compensate them in accordance with their agreements.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment against defendants, certification of the class action, declaratory relief, punitive damages, attorneys' fees and costs and other relief as the court deems appropriate. It is represented by Julia Bikbova in Northbrook.
