CHICAGO — A nursing home resident is suing Harbor House, citing alleged negligent supervision.

Daniel Egan filed a complaint on Aug. 15 in Cook County Circuit Court against Harbor Healthcare LLC, doing business as Harbor House, alleging he suffered a ground-level fall while walking, resulting in severe injuries to his leg, hip, and head, despite being identified as a "high fall risk" who required staff assistance during activities of daily living, transfers, and walking while he was a resident at Harbor House from May 20, 2016, to March 31, 2018.

The plaintiff holds Harbor House responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to have the proper amount of personnel during transfers and ambulation and failed to provide the necessary care and services to attain to maintain physical, mental and psychosocial well-being in accordance with plaintiff's comprehensive assessment of plan of care.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment to be entered in his favor in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by J. Matthew Dudley of Dudley & Lake LLC in Libertyville.
