CHICAGO — A woman is suing South Suburban Rehabilitation Center, blaming the nursing home for her mother's fall and death.

She is citing alleged violations of the Nursing Home Care Act, Survival Act and Wrongful Death Act.

Diane Wilder filed a complaint on Aug. 16 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the long-term care facility failed to provide or implement effective fall precautions for Darlene Harris to prevent her from falling.

The plaintiff alleges, on Aug. 21, 2016, while Darlene Harris was a resident at the defendant's facility, she fell and fractured her hip and had a laceration above her right eye, which resulted in the deterioration of her health and contributed to her death.

The plaintiff seeks more than $50,000. She is represented by Jason M. Kellerman of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
