CHICAGO — A lawsuit against Riverside Senior Living Center claims a man was injured and had a poor quality of life prior to his death at the facility on Sept. 7, 2016.

Jane Jensen filed a complaint on Aug. 10 in Cook County Circuit Court against defendants Jillian Youngquist, Michael Mutterer, Riverside Medical Center and Riverside Health System, citing alleged negligence.

The plaintiff alleges Ronald Jensen suffered injuries, including loss of dignity and self respect, poor quality of life, unnecessary pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, medical expenses, deterioration of condition, and worsening of pressure sores, prior to his death.

The plaintiff alleges negligence of the defendants in the care, treatment, monitoring and supervision of Jensen.

The plaintiff holds Riverside Senior Living Center, Jillian Youngquist, Michael Mutterer, Riverside Medical Center and Riverside Health System responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide the necessary treatment and services to a resident, failed to assess changes in resident's condition, failed to timely notify physician and family for changes in resident, and failed to have sufficient nursing staff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus attorney's fees and costs. She is represented by Timothy S. Tomasik and Philip P. Terrazzino of Tomasik Kotin Kasserman LLC in Chicago.
