Daughter accuses nursing home Symphony Chicago West of inadequate care for her father

CHICAGO — A daughter is suing Symphony of Chicago West, alleging the nursing facility failed to provide appropriate care for her father.

Sandy Smith, as independent administrator of the estate of Mose Smith Jr., filed a complaint on Aug. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging, between July 2014 and January 2017, while a resident of the nursing facility, Mose Smith Jr. was allegedly deprived of assistance in his daily living, causing infection, development of pressure sores, hydration issues and overall decline of nutrition, according to the complaint. 

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment greater than $50,000, plus attorneys' fees, costs, along with other relief. She is represented by Arlo Walsman of The Law Offices of Eric H. Check in Chicago.
