Surviving relative claims nursing home resident suffered from pressure sores

CHICAGO — Chicagoland Methodist Senior Services and Wesley Place are accused of failing to adequately care for a nursing home resident who developed pressure sores.

Cheryl Romero, as independent administrator of the estate of Joan L. Romero, filed a complaint on Aug. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Joan Romero developed pressure sores that were not treated while she was a a resident of the facility from July 1-Aug. 16, 2016, for physical therapy and rehabilitation post-surgery for a right femoral neck fracture in her hip, according to the complaint. 

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment greater than $50,000. She is represented by Christopher C. Cortese of Hurley McKenna & Mertz, PC in Chicago.
