CHICAGO — A patron is suing the Underground Night Club, alleging an intoxicated security guard assaulted him.

Konrad Koczwara filed a complaint on Aug. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against Rockit Ranch, doing business as the  Underground Night Club; and an unnamed security guard for allegedly violating the state Dram Shop Act.

Konrad Koczwara was at the nightclub on Sept. 17, 2017, when the unnamed security guard allegedly grabbed him in an  "unnecessarily violent and aggressive manner," according to the complaint.

The plaintiff claims the unknown security guard was intoxicated with alcohol provided by the Underground Night Club, causing the alleged assault.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment of more than $50,000, together with costs of filing suit. He is represented by Adam Smestad of Smestad Law LLC in Glenview.
