Widow blames Aperion Care Forest Park for husband's death

CHICAGO — A widow is suing Aperion Care Forest Park, a nursing home, citing alleged violation of the Nursing Home Care Act, negligence and wrongful death.

Nadine Wilson filed a complaint on Aug. 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against Aperion Care Forest Park alleging. between Dec. 16, 2016, and Aug. 3, 2018, while at the nursing home, Willie C. Wilson suffered many falls. On several occasions, he was found to have swelling and bruising about his face and head, according to the complaint. 

He was also found to have wounds in other areas of his body, the complaint said.

The plaintiff holds Aperion Care Forest Park responsible because the defendant allegedly had a duty to determine the patient's risk for falls and provide interventions to prevent falls, according to the complaint. 

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks mor than $50,000.00. She is represented by Joseph M. Lloyd of Dudley & Lake LLC in Chicago.
