CHICAGO – An estate administrator alleges a Chicago skilled nursing facility failed to adequately treat a resident's skin breakdown.
Helen Hines, as the independent administrator of the estate of Jeanette Hines, filed a complaint on Aug. 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against Symphony Bronzeville Park LLC, Maestro Consulting Service LLC, and others, alleging while a resident of Symphony, Jeanette Hines was taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in September 2016 and diagnosed with severe sepsis, urinary tract infection and atrial fibrillation. She died Sept. 15, 2016.
The complaint alleges she was at high risk for the development and progression of skin breakdown and was noted to have a stage III pressure injury while she was a resident at Symphony Bronzeville.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to adequately treat and respond to the resident's skin breakdown and failed to adequately monitor and treat symptoms of infection.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment against this defendant, including costs and attorney's fees. She is represented by attorneys Paul D. Richter and Caitlin K. Finnegan of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
