Locke Lord LLP issued the following announcement on Sept. 10.

Locke Lord is pleased to announce that it has earned ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification for its information security management system (ISMS). Locke Lord is one of a select group of law firms to achieve the all-encompassing ISO 27001 certification, which is the internationally recognized standard for establishing, maintaining and continually improving information security.

The Locke Lord ISMS is a framework of processes and control specifications to manage the Firm’s Document Management Service (DMS), Email Management Service (EMS), Remote Access Service (RAS), ClientShare Service (CSS), Mobile Device Management Service (MDMS), Litigation Support Service (LSS) and Active Directory Management Service (ADMS). The goal of the ISMS is to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of client and Firm information assets globally.

“Our clients are increasingly demanding cybersecurity best practices, and this certification is just the latest indication that Locke Lord takes information security and protecting client data very seriously,” said Andy Sawyer, Director of Security at Locke Lord. “Not only does this certification require demonstrable evidence of continual security system and practice improvement, this is more than just technical and showcases that our attorneys and staff are educated regarding information security best practices.”

Locke Lord was audited by Professional Evaluation and Certification Board (PECB), a global provider of training, examination, audit and certification services. The Firm’s systems and practices will be audited and confirmed annually.
