Patient blames medical group and doctor for failing to diagnose her hypertension

CHICAGO — A patient is claiming she fell comatose and suffered permanent injuries after Advocate Medical Group and a physician allegedly failed to diagnose and treat her hypertension.

Barbara Schlosser filed a complaint on Sept. 4 in Cook County Circuit Court, against Advocate Medical Group and Shad Ahmad, a physician, alleging negligence.

The plaintiff alleges, on April 18, 2016, she suffered severe and permanent injuries, became comatose, and was diagnosed with a subarachnoid hemorrhage that arose from untreated hypertension, as a result of alleged negligence in her diagnosis, treatment and care of plaintiff. 

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant greater than $50,000. She is represented by attorney Scott B. Wolfman in Chicago.
