CHICAGO — South Suburban Rehabilitation Center, Extended Care Clinical and Extended Care Consulting have been named in a wrongful death lawsuit involving the care and treatment of a nursing home resident.

Sherry Lowe Johnson, an independent administrator, filed a complaint on Sept. 10 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging, from Aug. 26-Sept.25, 2016, Marie L. Anderson developed a urinary tract infection and suffered from dehydration, malnutrition, weight loss and worsening dysphagia. She died on Oct.12, 2016.

Johnson claims the defendants failed to provide Anderson with proper care, treatment and supervision.

Johnson claims the defendants should have notified Anderson's doctor about her worsening condition but failed to do so.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment greater than $50,000, plus attorney fees and costs. She is represented by Daisy Ayllon of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
