CHICAGO — Stratigo Rizakos is suing Northshore University Evanston Hospital, alleging violation of the Wrongful Death Act.
RIzajos, who is independent executor of the estate of Olga Rizakos, filed a complaint on Sept. 11 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging, during Olga Rizokas' residency at the nursing home, she allegedly developed pressure ulcers and suffered from dehydration, which worsened and caused deterioration in her health. As a result, she allegedly suffered pain and disability, which contributed to her death on July 4, 2017.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to protect Olga Rizakos from neglect and failed to provide properly supervise her care.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgement for compensatory damages greater than $50,000 and attorney fees as allowed by statute.
