CHICAGO – A widow has filed a suit against Advocate Sherman Hospital over her husband's death.

Kathleen Wolf, independent administrator of the estate of Hans J. Wolf, filed a complaint on Sept. 17 in Cook County Circuit Court against Advocate Sherman Hospital, physician Azmey Matarieh, and other defendants, alleging wrongful death and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges on Jan. 26, Hans Wolf went to Sherman complaining of various ailments and required immediate medical intervention, treatment and admission. The suit states he died the following day, and alleges the defendants failed to obtain appropriate imaging to rule out a large vessel dissection, failed to follow up on his complaints of chest and neck pain and failed to order appropriate imaging of his spine.

The plaintiff alleges she has been deprived of the society, companionship, love and affection of her husband.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendants in an amount of more than $50,000, and other relief. She is represented by Ian R. Alexander of Goldberg & Goldberg in Chicago.
