Woman alleges she was injured while traveling in Rush University Medical Center shuttle bus

CHICAGO – A wheelchair user alleges she was injured as a passenger in a shuttle bus operated by a medical center when the bus hit a bump in the road in Chicago.

Sonja Jones filed a complaint on Sept. 18 in Cook County Circuit Court against Rush University Medical Center and a driver employed by the hospital, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges on Sept. 19, 2016, she was a passenger in a wheelchair on a shuttle bus owned by Rush traveling on West Flournoy Street between Ashland Avenue and Paulina Street in Chicago. The plaintiff alleges she fell when the bus hit a bump on the roadway, which caused her to sustain temporary and permanently disabling injuries. 

The plaintiff seeks in a sum in excess of the jurisdictional minimum plus costs of this action. She is represented by Donald Jaburek of Pope & Jaburek PC in Chicago.
