CHICAGO – A patron of a Waukegan grocery store alleges she was injured after slipping on orange peels and juice on the store's floor.

Aura M. Xuya filed a complaint on Sept. 19 in Cook County Circuit Court against Lewis Fresh Market; and Club Foods LLC, also known as Super Fresh Market, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 21, 2016, Xuya allegedly slipped and fell on the floor because of orange peels and juice. As a result, the plaintiff alleges she sustained damages of permanent nature, which include liability for medical and health care expenses, pain and suffering and wage loss.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to clean the floor and failed to put out any warning signs.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in an amount in excess of the jurisdictional limits and such additional relief the court shall deem just and proper. She is represented by Ehsan Eftekhari of Eftekhari Law Offices in Evanston.
