CHICAGO – A woman alleges she was thrown from a go-cart at a Bedford Park facility after her hair became caught in it.

Teliyah Magitt filed a complaint on Sept. 19 in Cook County Circuit Court against Top Speed Racing Inc. and Chicago Race Factory alleging on June 25, 2017, Magitt was driving a go-kart when her hair was caught in the go-kart and she was violently thrown from the vehicle.

As a result, plaintiff alleges she sustained severe and permanent injuries and was compelled to expend large sums of money for medical aid.

The plaintiff holds Top Speed Racing Inc. and Chicago Race Factory responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly instruct plaintiff about how to safely operate the go-kart and failed to warn plaintiff that her hair may get caught in the go-kart if not properly secured.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in an amount of more than $50,000, plus interest and costs of suit. She is represented by Angela P. Kurtz of The Law Office of Bradley T. Cheskes in Chicago.
