CHICAGO – A woman alleges a dentist failed to properly perform a root canal.

Amal Dignam filed a complaint on Sept. 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against Ronald J. Picchetti, DDS & Associates (Golf Mill) LTD and dentist Ronald Picchetti alleging medical malpractice.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 25, 2016,  the defendants performed a limited oral evaluation on Dignam and she underwent a root canal. The suit states the defendants also performed other procedures in November and December 2016.

The suit states in January 2017, the plaintiff presented to her primary dentist with complaints of tooth pain, and her dentist noted only one canal was filled to two-thirds. The suit states she continued to have pain throughout that year.

The plaintiff holds Ronald J. Picchetti, DDS & Associates (Golf Mill) LTD and Picchetti responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly inform plaintiff of the risks of the root canal.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages in an amount greater than $100,000 plus costs of suit. She is represented by David J. Gallagher of The Vrdolyak Law Group LLC in Chicago.
