CHICAGO – An independent administrator blames an attorney licensed to practice law in Cook County for the alleged loss of millions in real estate and other assets from an estate.
Jack Luciana, as independent administrator for the estate of Domenico Sangiorgio, filed a complaint on Oct. 9 in Cook County Circuit Court against attorney Keil Larson and his law practice, alleging legal malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Larson failed to protect Sangiorgio's interest and facilitated a series of transactions that benefited two other clients of the defendants and these clients "looted Domenico's estate and wrongfully transferred several million dollars' worth of real estate and other assets rightfully belonging to Domenico to a trust" benefiting them.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to take protective action to protect Sangiorgio from substantial financial harm and failed to disclose conflicts of interest.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for an award of damages of more than $50,000, with interest, attorney fees, costs and such other relief as the court may deem appropriate. He is represented by Michael C. Bruck and Jessica Lynn Dagley of Spellmire Bruck LLP in Chicago.
