CHICAGO – A shopper at a Chicago grocery store alleges she was injured when she slipped on a wet substance on the floor.

Nereida Perez filed a complaint on Oct. 10 in Cook County Circuit Court against Fresh Market Place Inc. alleging on Aug. 7, she was at the store at 2600 N. Central Ave., Chicago, when she slipped and fell in an aisle and was injured.

The plaintiff alleges Fresh Market Place failed to properly maintain the aisle and common walkway areas in a safe condition, permitted a wet substance to exist on the floor of a common area, failed to warn plaintiff of the dangerous condition on its premises, and failed to place barricades around the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount to satisfy the jurisdictional limitation of the court and additional amounts, plus costs of suit. She is represented by John D. Chambers and Logan Meyer of Argionis & Associates LLC in Chicago.
