Mayer Brown announced that the Illinois Bar Foundation (IBF) has honored Litigation & Dispute Resolution partner Tyrone C. Fahner (Chicago) with the 2018 Distinguished Award for Excellence. The annual award honors “one individual whose career and personal life exemplify their ongoing commitment to the law and the legal community.”
Mr. Fahner focuses his practice on complex litigation, as well as state and regulatory compliance matters. He has extensive jury trial experience in cases involving financial crimes, securities, multi-district and class action litigation. Mr. Fahner served on the management committee of Mayer Brown from 1985 to 2007, including the positions of co-chairman (1998-2001) and chairman (2001-2007). In addition to his time in private practice, Mr. Fahner served as a former attorney general of Illinois, director of the Illinois Department of Law Enforcement and as an assistant US Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.
The mission of the IBF, charitable arm of the Illinois State Bar Association is to ensure meaningful access to our justice system, especially for those with limited means and to assist lawyers who have fallen on hard times.
