CHICAGO – A wrongful death suit has been filed against the driver in a Mack truck who allegedly failed to obey a traffic control device in a collision in Elgin.
Francisco Piña, as special administrator of the estate of Consuelo G. Pina, filed a complaint on Oct. 25 in Cook County Circuit Court against Hipolito F. Rangel alleging wrongful death.
According to the complaint, on July 29, Consuelo Piña was operating a 2005 Hyundai Tucson in a southbound direction on Randall Road near the intersection with Hopps Road in Elgin when her vehicle was struck by Rangel's truck. As a result, the suit states she sustained fatal injuries.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount to satisfy the jurisdictional limitation of the court and other amounts as the court may award. He is represented by Craig D. Brown of Meyers & Flowers LLC in St. Charles.
