Ambassador Nursing and Rehabilitation Center resident alleges she developed pressure ulcer

CHICAGO – A resident of a long-term nursing care facility in Chicago is seeking damages after she developed a pressure ulcer.

Aida Luna, by her power of attorney Elizabeth Alvarez, filed a complaint on Nov. 7 in Cook County Circuit Court against Ambassador Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, citing the Nursing Home Care Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was admitted to the defendant's nursing facility in August 2008. The suit states in January, she developed a pressure ulcer.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to ensure personnel evaluate her to ensure she was receiving adequate care and failed to implement an up-to-date resident care plan for her.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant of more than $50,000, attorney's fees and costs. She is represented by Michael J. Eisenberg of Rosenberg, Eisenberg & Associates LLC in Arlington Heights.
