CHICAGO – A client alleges a Cook County law firm failed to file an arbitration case on her behalf.

Tammy Sapper Segovia filed a complaint on Nov. 5 in Cook County Circuit Court against George Spellmire and Spellmire Law Firm LLC alleging legal malpractice.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges, in May 19, 2015, she executed a retainer agreement with the defendants for the law firm to represent her in a legal malpractice case against Much Shelist regarding a trust.

She alleges the defendants charged approximately $15,000 in legal fees, but failed to file any arbitration case.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an amount found to be due by a jury in excess of the jurisdictional minimum and for further relief that is just and equitable in the circumstances. She is represented by Joseph T. Gentleman in Chicago.
