CHICAGO – Five investors have withdrawn their lawsuit against Goldstone Financial Group LLC, in which they alleged they had been misled into investing a portion of their retirement savings into unregistered securities and sustained a loss.
On May 23, Cook County Circuit Judge Eve M. Reilly entered an order dismissing the claims brought by plaintiffs Eugene Simmons, Alexandra Eiva, Carol Harms, Rosemary Maziarz IRA and Randall M. Thompson IRA against Goldstone Financial Group LLC, Anthony Pellegrino and Michael Pellegrino.
According to the order, the plaintiffs requested to voluntarily dismiss the court action under an agreement reached among the parties. Each side would pay its own attorney fees and costs.
The plaintiffs had filed a complaint on their behalf and on behalf of all others similarly situated on Nov. 8, 2018, in Cook County Circuit Court alleging violation of Illinois Securities Law of 1953, negligence and other counts.
According to the complaint, the defendants promoted, marketed and sold unlawful and unregistered securities offered by 1 Global Capital LLC. The plaintiffs allege that they invested in 1 Global securities directly through Goldstone and lost most or all of the value of their investments.
