CHICAGO – A resident of Indonesia has filed suit against Chicago-headquartered Boeing over a plane crash in Indonesia last month that killed his son.
H. Irianto, individually and as special administrator of the estate of Dr. Rio Nanda Pratama, filed a complaint on Nov. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court against The Boeing Co. alleging strict product liability, negligence and failure to warn.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff's son, Dr. Rio Nanda Pratama, was killed Oct. 29, when a newly delivered Boeing 737 Max 8 commercial aircraft crashed in the Java Sea off the coast of Indonesia. The plaintiff alleges the new Boeing flight control system contributed to the plane's crash.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant's plane allegedly lacked proper and adequate instructions and warnings regarding the design and functions of the auto-dive system.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages, court costs, and other relief. He is represented by Austin Bartlett of BartlettChen LLC in Chicago.
