CHICAGO – A woman is seeking damages from a Cook County dermatologist because the woman says she suffered tissue paralysis after Botox treatments.
Claudia Conroy filed a complaint on Nov. 13 in Cook County Circuit Court against physician Amy Taub and Advanced Dermatology LLC alleging medical malpractice.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff received dermatological care from the defendants from May 2016 to July 2017, including Botox and injectable fillers.
She alleges she sustained severe and permanent disabling injuries to her lips and face, suffered nerve, tissue and muscle damage, tissue paralysis, disability and medical expenses to treat injuries as a result of the negligence of the defendants in providing dermatological care.
The plaintiff holds Taub and Advanced Dermatology LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to follow procedures for the use of injectors, failed to warn or inform plaintiff of potential complications and injuries, and failed to properly instruct or supervise staff and employees.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for an amount of more than $50,000 and costs of suit. She is represented by William F. Fitzpatrick of Fitzpatrick Law Firm in Chicago.
