CHICAGO – A suit against an Elmhurst long-term care facility has been filed by a resident who alleges it failed to provide her proper care.

Jane Williams filed a complaint on Nov. 13 in Cook County Circuit Court against Lexington Health Care Center of Elmhurst Inc. and Royal Management Corp., both doing business as Lexington of Elmhurst, citing the Nursing Home Care Act.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 5, 2017, the plaintiff was admitted to the defendants' facility for nursing home and rehabilitative services and was at high risk for the development and worsening of pressure ulcers. She alleges while residing at the facility, she developed pressure ulcers that deteriorated in condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment of more than $50,000, attorney fees and costs. She is represented by Kristen N. Koeller and Annabelle L. Borota of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates PC in Chicago.
