CHICAGO – A woman alleges she sustained a cut to her head while using a machine at a Morton Grove gym.

Krystyna Pyclik filed a complaint on Nov. 19 in Cook County Circuit Court against LA Fitness; Fitness International LLC; and others, alleging negligence and strict liability.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 21, 2016, while she was at the LA Fitness facility in Morton Grove, she was cut on the head by a sharp metal washer and bolt that was improperly placed onto the Magnum Multi Hip Machine.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants negligently retrofitted the machine with the loose steel washer, nut and bolt and failed to remove the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants for damages of more than $50,000 plus costs, and additional relief the court deems just. She is represented by Emilio E. Machado of Rubin, Machado & Rosenblum LTD in Chicago.
