Barnes & Thornburg LLP has added new corporate and intellectual property attorneys to its Chicago and Los Angeles offices.
Margarita M. Escalante is an associate in the Chicago office who assists clients in domestic and international corporate matters and commercial transactions including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate governance and compliance, with a focus on Mexico and Latin America. She counsels clients in doing business and in limiting risk and exposure throughout the United States and Mexico.
Escalante earned her J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and her L.E.D. from the Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in 2012.
Joshua S. Frick, an of counsel in the Chicago office, focuses his practice on trademarks, unfair competition and copyrights. He comes to the firm with more than 10 years of experience serving as an advocate for client brands. Clients depend on him to provide creative, forward-thinking strategies that address the new opportunities and threats posed by social media and the related challenges of an increasingly connected global marketplace.
Frick earned his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2007 and his B.A. in marketing and legal studies from Indiana University in 2003.
Bunnie Poullard is an associate in the Los Angeles office who brings to her clients a background in a wide range of business, finance and real estate matters, specifically regarding commercial finance; real estate finance; and purchase, sale and leasing transactions. She represents both entrepreneurs and established businesses in entity formation, investment transactions, and drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
Poullard earned her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law, where she was business marketing editor for the Journal of Business Entrepreneurship and the Law, and her B.A. in international studies-political science and Spanish from Pepperdine University.
