Ultra Foods employee alleges pallet jack caused foot injuries

CHICAGO – A Calumet Park resident alleges she was injured when a pallet jack was lowered onto her foot.

Shirley Reese Johnson filed a complaint on Nov. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against Breakthrough Beverage Group, Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits and an unknown driver, individually and as a servant of those companies, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 21, 2016, Johnson was working at Ultra Foods in the loading dock area when the unknown driver lowered a pallet jack carrying cases of liquor onto her foot.

As a result, the plaintiff alleges she suffered physical injuries, pain and suffering, loss of a normal life and medical expenses. 

The plaintiff seeks judgment in an amount of more than $50,000, plus additional amounts and costs of suit. She is represented by Brian C. Hercule of The Law Offices of John S. Eliasik in Chicago.
